Milly
Hi there, I’m Milly, a 2025 racing survivor who got a second chance during a cold Kentucky winter. When a kind couple found me, I was tired, vulnerable, and very aware that I needed help. I didn’t even try to fly away! I just let them pick me up, grateful for warmth and safety. Thanks to them, I made it quickly to DCPR, where I’ve been learning that life doesn’t always have to be a race to survive.
I may be a racing homer by background, but I’m actually quite tiny- closer in size to a feral pigeon (and yes, people keep saying how cute that is). My personality is still unfolding: some days I’m shy and observant, and other days I surprise everyone with little flashes of bravery. I’m quietly figuring out who I am now that I don’t have to be on guard all the time.
What I need most is patience and a gentle home that will let me settle in at my own pace. If you’re willing to give me the time to learn that I’m safe and cared for, I have all the potential to become a loving, loyal companion, one soft step at a time.
